Privacy Policy

Hey! I'm Ayo! Here I explain what happens with your data.

At a Glance

• Responsible: Peter (Switzerland) — your contact for everything • Stored: Language, progress, email (only if registered) • With account: Name and address are stored on the serverEncryption: All personal data is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM • In chat: Personal data is replaced with placeholders (never sent in plain text) • Tracking: Matomo (self-hosted, opt-out anytime) • AI Chat: Your input is sanitized before sending (no PII) • Deletion: You can delete your account anytime (30-day grace period) • Third parties: Infomaniak (CH), Anthropic (USA, AI only), Formspark (EU)

We count on you!

We count how many people visit our site. You can decide if you want to be part of that or not. It's your right!

This is what we store

1. Your browser remembers things

So you don't have to set everything up again, your browser remembers: • Which language you chose • If you've seen the mobile hint • How far you are in the story This stays only on your device - we can't see it. You can delete it anytime in your browser.

2. The server takes notes

When you visit our site, the computer (server) automatically writes down:

When you visited (date and time) • Which pages you looked at •

• Which browser you use • Part of your internet address (IP)

It's like a guest book and helps us find problems. It gets deleted after about 30 days.

3. We count visitors (Matomo)

We use a program called Matomo to count how many people visit our site. It runs on our own computer in Switzerland - not at other companies. What Matomo sees:

Which pages are popular • How long people stay •

• Which country they're from (roughly) • What device they use (phone, tablet, computer)

Important: Your internet address is shortened so nobody can know who exactly you are. No cookies are set!

4. When you write to us (Feedback)

When you use the feedback form, your message goes to a service called Formspark. It's based in Europe (Belgium/Ireland) and follows the same privacy rules as we do. We only store what you voluntarily send us. You don't have to give your real name.

5. Hey Ayo! Chatbox

When you chat with Ayo, your inputs are encrypted and stored anonymously. This helps us make Ayo smarter and friendlier. What is stored:

Date and time • A rough category (e.g. greeting, help question) • Your page identifier (Page-ID) •

• Your language • An anonymous fingerprint of your internet address (SHA-256 with salt - not traceable)

What is NOT stored: • Your name, age, city or other personal data • The content of your message (except in case of rule violations) • Your actual internet address Your inputs are sent to the Anthropic API to generate Ayo's responses. Anthropic is based in California, USA and only processes the data to answer - not to train AI models. You must check a box in the chatbox before you can type. Nothing is sent or stored without your consent. - Your name, age, city and more - If you tell Ayo your name, age or where you live, Ayo will remember it - but only on your own computer (in something called browser storage). This way Ayo can greet you by name next time. Important: This information never leaves your computer in plain text! Before your message is sent to the server, personal details are replaced in advance by ALESSYO® with a placeholder (a kind of secret code).

This applies to:

Your name • Your age or date of birth • Your city • Email addresses • Phone numbers •

• Web addresses (URLs) • Street addresses • IBAN numbers • Account details

The server only sees placeholders and doesn't know what you actually wrote. The server-side logs also only contain the encrypted placeholders - never your real data. Good to know: We are constantly improving this protection. If you write something in a very unusual way, the secret code swap might not work in rare cases. Just write normally - then the protection works best. Only when Ayo's answer arrives back on your computer, the placeholder is swapped back for your real name in a split second - and only on your device. Think of it like this: You write your name on a note and put it in your drawer. You only send a code word to the server. When the answer comes back, you look in your drawer and put the right name back in. The server never saw your real name. You can tell Ayo at any time: “Forget my name” or “Forget everything about me” - and it will be deleted from your browser storage immediately.

This is why we store this

Our reasons

So the website works (your language, your progress) • So we can find and fix bugs •

• So we know what people like • So we can make the site better

We never sell your data and don't give it to advertisers.

This is how long we store

Storage duration

Browser storage: Until you delete it Server logs: About 30 days Name/age/city: Only locally on your device

Matomo statistics: Up to 26 months Feedback: Until we delete it Chatbox messages: Up to 12 months profile: Until deletion (30 days after deactivation) LIVE Chat: 90 days Online time: Until account deletion

Cookies

Cookies are small files that some websites store on your computer to recognize you. We don't use cookies ourselves! Everything we store stays in your browser (localStorage) and can't be read by other websites. If you sign in with Google, Google may set its own technical cookies (e.g. g_csrf_token). These are only created during the sign-in process and do not come from us.

This is what you can do

You have the right to know what we've stored about you (access), to have it changed (rectification), or to have it deleted (erasure). But since we don't store personal data that can identify you, there's usually nothing to delete. Questions: [email]

6. Game Progress

So you can continue playing where you left off, we save your game progress.

Which volumes you've completed • Where you currently are (volume, scene) • Which tutorial pages you've seen • Your achievements and awards •

• Without account: stored only in your browser (localStorage) • With account: additionally synced to our server (Switzerland) • The save code still works as a backup

You can create a save code (AYO-XXXXX-XXXXX). This lets you back up your progress or load it on another device. The code only contains your game progress — no personal data.

Without account: If you clear your browser storage, your progress will be lost — write down your save code! With account: Your progress is safely stored on the server and syncs automatically when you log in.

7. Profile

When you create an profile, we store a few things about you on our server:

Your email address • Your first name • An optional nickname • An optional birthday •

• An optional address • Optional phone numbers • Your profile photo (if you upload one, max 2 MB)

Your data is stored on our server in Europe (Infomaniak, Switzerland). All personal data — your name, email address, postal address and phone numbers — is encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM in our database. This is the same encryption standard used by banks and government agencies. Even if the database were accessed by a third party, your data would be unreadable. Your password is additionally hashed separately (bcrypt) — we can't read it, nobody can. Your email address is stored as a cryptographic fingerprint (HMAC-SHA256) for login purposes, so we can recognise you without storing the address in plain text. Profile photo: If you upload a photo, it's stored on our server. Please only upload pictures that belong to you and are appropriate. Birthday in the newsbox: If you share your birthday, other logged-in users who also share their birthday can see it. Under 13: Your last name and profile photo won't be shown publicly for safety. Progress sync: When you're logged in, your game progress is automatically synced between your devices. Delete account: When you delete your account, it's deactivated immediately. After 30 days, all your data is permanently deleted. Within those 30 days, you can log in again to restore your account.

8. LIVE Chat

Sometimes Alessyo has a LIVE Chat — it's either announced ahead of time or just happens in between. It's like a Meet'n'Greet where you can share your ideas and feedback directly with the developer! Don't worry: nobody can see any info that could be traced back to you. You just need a free PROFILE and have to agree to message logging first.

Your username • Your profile photo • Your messages • Your user ID •

• Timestamps • Your language setting • Whether the message was a PM

All LIVE chat logs are automatically deleted after 90 days. If you delete your account, your chat messages are also deleted. A word filter checks your messages for prohibited terms. If one is detected, the message will not be sent.

9. Online Time

When you're logged in, we count how long you spend on the site in total — in minutes. It's like a stopwatch that only runs while you have the page open. We only save the total number of minutes — not when exactly you were here or which pages you looked at. Why? Because we want to understand how much our site is used. And for child profiles, it helps parents keep track of the time limit. The number is deleted when you delete your account.

10. Google Sign-In

You can also sign in with your Google account. An external script from Google is loaded (Google Identity Services) and an ID token is sent to our server. Our server verifies this token with Google to make sure it's really you. From Google we receive: your email address, your first name, and a unique Google ID. We store the Google ID in your profile so you can sign in directly next time. If an account with the same email already exists, it will be automatically linked to your Google account. No password is stored — Google handles the sign-in. We do not get access to your Google account, your contacts, or any other data. Provider: Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google's privacy policy applies: https://policies.google.com/privacy

When is what deleted?

11. Deletion Schedule

We only keep your data as long as we really need it. After that, it gets deleted — promise! • Account deleted: All your data (name, email, progress, profile picture) is permanently deleted after 30 days. During those 30 days you can still change your mind. • LIVE chat messages: Automatically deleted after 90 days. • Server logs (visitor stats): Deleted after 30 days. • Matomo data (visitor counting): Anonymized and deleted after 180 days. • AI chat sessions: Deleted after 30 days. Personal data is sanitized BEFORE sending. • Browser data (localStorage): Stays on your device until you delete it yourself.

Who helps us?

12. Our Helpers (Data Processors)

To make everything work, we work with a few companies. We have a contract (DPA) with each one so your data is handled safely: • Infomaniak (Switzerland): Our server is with them. They make sure everything runs — but they can't see your data because everything is encrypted. DPA: Infomaniak standard contract. • Anthropic (USA): They make the AI that Ayo talks with. Your messages are cleaned up first — no name, no email, nothing personal goes to the AI. Legal basis: Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR (consent when using chat). • Formspark (EU): If you use the feedback form, it goes through them. They only store what you voluntarily enter. • Google (USA): Only if you sign in with Google. Then Google sends us your email and name — nothing else.

13. Children from the USA (COPPA)

If you're from the USA and under 13: The US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) requires a parent to agree before we can store any data. Without parental consent, you cannot create an account or use the AI chat. Parents can create child profiles through their own parent account and manage all permissions.

Terms of Use

Hey! I'm Ayo! Here I explain the rules — what you can do and what you can't.

Trademark Protection

This belongs to me!

ALESSYO® – that's me! My name, my face and my logo are officially protected. It's registered at the Swiss Trademark Office (Number: 843490). That means: There's only one of me! What does that mean for you? Simple: You can't copy me and pretend to be me. You can't sell T-shirts or apps with my picture on them. And you can't use my name for your own stuff.

This is how I look

An AI helped with my appearance. Peter told it how I should look.

This is who takes care of me

Peter is responsible for me and always comes up with new exciting details. If you have a fun idea or find a bug or want to change the story or help create something, write to us via the contact form.

Good to know

This is mine – please ask first!

Everything on this website was created by my Peter: the stories, the pictures, the games and of course me! That's his intellectual property – like when you draw a picture and someone just takes it. You may: Play with me here on this site, read the stories and tell your friends about it. You may not: Put my pictures on your website, copy the stories and publish them somewhere else, or sell stuff with my face on it. This is important because Peter put a lot of work into everything. If you'd like to use something, just ask us first – we'll surely find a solution!

Together

It's more fun together!

Everyone should feel welcome here with me. That's why I wish for everyone to be friendly and respectful – just like real friends! This means: No swear words or mean things. Don't insult or bother anyone. Don't share other people's personal information. If someone isn't nice, I might need a break and can't answer for a while. But don't worry – if you say sorry, we'll talk again! Because everyone deserves a second chance.

Your Account

If you want an profile, you need a valid email address and your first name. You must verify your email before you can log in. Please note: Only one account per person. Don't share your password with anyone — it's like your secret key! Your profile photo must be nice and appropriate — no scary or mean pictures. If you're under 13, your last name and profile photo won't be shown publicly for safety. That's to protect you!

For Parents and Guardians

If you're under 16

According to data protection law (GDPR, Article 8), children under 16 need their parents' permission to create an account. A parent must confirm that it's okay. Parents can create child profiles through their own account and decide what their child is allowed to do — like which volumes are unlocked or how long they can play. If you're from the USA and under 13: The COPPA law requires your parents to explicitly agree before we can store any of your data. Without their permission, nothing happens!

Legal Stuff

Where does the law apply?

This website is operated from Switzerland. If there's ever a problem we can't solve together, Swiss law applies and the place of jurisdiction is the canton of the operator (Switzerland). That sounds complicated, but it just means: If someone has a dispute, it gets resolved in Switzerland — not somewhere else in the world.

Disclaimer

Hey! I'm Ayo! Here are some important things you should know.

What is this?

This website is a private project by my Peter. All content is carefully created, but without guarantee for accuracy, completeness or timeliness. Use is at your own risk.

AI helped out

Artificial Intelligence was used in the creation of images, sounds and program code. Should a depicted character resemble a real person, this is unintentional and purely coincidental. Except for me, Ayo! Peter designed me visually after himself, just as an avatar and a bit younger.

All made up by ourselves!

All characters, stories and content are original creations and are carefully reviewed to exclude similarities to licensed characters. There is no connection to other companies or brands. Similarities to existing works are unintentional.

Recommended for ages 6+

This website contains no discriminatory, offensive or violent content. For younger children, we recommend supervision by adults.

It's all made up!

All stories and events are fictional and serve solely for entertainment. There is no connection to past or present real events. No recommendations for action are given. The content of alessyo.eu is intended as a purely aesthetic impulse: it deliberately refrains from didactic guidelines in order to give the viewer the space for a completely free, individual interpretation.

For mum and dad

Actions from the story should not be imitated.

Links to other sites

We assume no liability for the content of linked websites. The responsibility lies with the respective provider.

Something's not right?

If you have questions or problems, please contact us directly at [email]. We strive for a quick and fair solution.

Our attorney

Attorney - for legal matters, only in case of emergency.

Your profile

Your account data is stored securely, but we cannot guarantee 100% security — unfortunately, nobody on the internet can. If you delete your account, your data is permanently gone after 30 days. We are not responsible for that. Profile photos are your responsibility. You must have the rights to the image you upload.

As It Is

No guarantee it's perfect

ALESSYO® is provided to you as it is — "as is". Peter tries really hard, but he can't promise that everything will always work perfectly. That means: There might be a bug sometimes, a page might not load, or a save game might get lost. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee against that. Peter does this in his free time with a lot of heart — but there's no huge company with 100 people behind it.

What we can't replace

If something goes wrong — for example a save game is lost or something doesn't work — we unfortunately can't pay damages. This applies especially to: • Lost save games or data • Things you missed because something didn't work • Other consequences from a bug Since ALESSYO® is completely free, liability is limited to zero — nothing was paid. But of course we still do our best to fix everything!

Your backup, your responsibility

Your game progress is saved on your device. If you have an account, also on our server. But: If you clear your browser storage or switch devices, progress can be lost. So: Write down your save code or create a free account! We're not responsible for lost save games — but we're happy to help if we can.

Conformity

(ISO Development Overview)

Hey! I'm Ayo! This is kind of like my report card — with subjects and grades! You can see transparently how well I already follow certain rules — and what Peter still wants to teach me so I can get even better. These rules are called ISO standards and make sure everything is safe, fair, and accessible for everyone. Building a world like this is quite a lot of work — and this is also one reason why new adventures sometimes take a bit longer!
